Getting Started with Outlier.org through Guild

This article is for employees of organizations partnered with Guild.  If you do not have access to the Guild Learning Marketplace, the steps and certificates outlined below do not apply. Please reach out to success@outlier.org for more information.

As a member of the Guild family, we are excited to welcome you to two exciting certificate paths at Outlier.org. Each of the paths below is specifically designed to kick-start your academic career and provide foundational paths to success.

To enroll in one of the programs above, and acquire funding through your employer, follow the steps below:

1) Indicate your interest, and intent to enroll in either of the above programs by submitting an application in your Guild Learning Marketplace.  Make sure to touch base with your Guild Advisor for more information about the due date for this step.

Guild will confirm your eligibility for this program and reach out within 7-10 business days after step one is completed.
Any questions about eligibility should be directed to a Guild advisor.

2) If your employer confirms your eligibility for your chosen start date, you will receive a welcome email from Outlier.org at the beginning of your first month.

3) Using the same email address used in your Guild account, create an Outlier account.  You will not receive credentials to log in, but instead will be invited to create your own password.  This is a very important step!

4) Start your first course!

Some important notes:
*If you need to exit the course for any reason, you will need to email success@outlier.org before the drop deadline listed in your Course Toolkit. To read more about this deadline, click here.

*If you exit your very first course, you will need to re-apply to begin again.  In other words, if you exit your course, you will need to repeat step two to begin in a new month.  (This does not apply to courses after your first enrollment).

If you have additional questions for Guild, we recommend you visit the Guild Help Center.
