Is there a Light Mode option?

Outlier made the conscious design decision to build our platform in ‘dark mode’ to create a more pleasant and less fatiguing experience for our students, especially those who might be working on their coursework at night.

As it turns out, this topic is a lot more polarizing than we realized! We’ve received feedback from a number of students who prefer working in light mode (or having the option to toggle between the two). Our production teams are looking into building this option into the platform, but we do not yet have a timeline for when this may be available.

In the meantime, we’ve compiled a few tech hacks to help you light-moders out there!

For Windows Users:

If you’re on a Windows machine, you can use the Magnifier tool to invert the colors on your screen.

For Mac Users:

If you’re on a Mac device, you can invert the colors on your screen by navigating to the Display Options and changing your settings (or use a quick combo: Option + Command + 5)

In Google Chrome:

Since Outlier.org is optimized for the Chrome browser, there’s a good chance you’re already here. Add the Invert! extension to quickly invert the colors on any webpage.
