Key Dates for Everything Outlier

Whether you are a prospective or current student, here is a list of key dates/deadlines to keep in mind when enrolling in an Outlier course.

Enroll in a Cohort

Deadline

  • For 14 Week Standard Cohorts: 11:59 pm EST the day before the cohort starts.
  • For 39 Week Extended Cohorts: 7 business days before the cohort starts.

Drop a Course

Deadline

  • For 14 Week Standard Cohorts: 14 days after the course start date.
  • For 39 Week Extended Cohorts: 8 weeks after the course start date.

Students may choose to drop a course at any point before 11:59 pm EST on this deadline.

Exit Current Cohort and Start at a Later Date

Deadline

  • For 14 Week Standard Cohorts: 14 days after the course start date.
  • For 39 Week Extended Cohorts: 8 weeks after the course start date.

Students may choose to exit and start later at any point before 11:59 pm EST on this deadline.

Switch to a Different Course

Deadline

  • Changes to enrollment must be completed no later than 11:59 pm EST on the course start date.

Any changes requested after this time will require you to exit the course and enroll in the next available cohort.

Switch from For-Credit to Audit

Deadline

  • For 14 Week Standard Cohorts: 14 days after the course start date.
  • For 39 Week Extended Cohorts: 8 weeks after the course start date.

Students may choose to switch from for-credit to audit at any point before 11:59 pm EST on this deadline.

Administrative Drops

Deadline

Students who do not meaningfully participate by the time 20% of the term has passed will be administratively dropped from the course.

  • For 14 Week Standard Cohorts: The 20% mark occurs during the 4th week of the course.
  • For 39 Week Extended Cohorts: The 20% mark occurs during the 10th week of the course.

Withdraw from a Course

Deadline

  • For 14 Week Standard Cohorts: 9 weeks after the start date.
  • For 39 Week Extended Cohorts: 27 weeks after the start date.

Students enrolled in a for-credit course can withdraw from their course at any point after the drop deadline but before 11:59 pm on the withdrawal deadline.
